Shifting Gears

🏆 2019 Honorable Mention in Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas Awards

Role: UX Design, UI Design

A team of Sasaki designers undertook a research project in 2017 to examine the future of autonomous vehicles (AV). My team was engaged to build a website that captured the results of their research.

Shifting Gears is an interactive website that explores the future of autonomous vehicles in the urban space.

The website includes not only the results of the research team’s exploration, but uniquely prompts site visitors to more deeply engage, asking for their opinion and responses throughout the site. Each user is also presented with their custom vision for AVs (“My AV Future”) and can see the results of other visitors’ engagements.

I led and implemented the UX and UI design for this project. I guided the research team through different conceptual organization options for the site, brainstorming and wireframing and critiquing sketches together. I also created pixel-perfect mockups using UXPin and the project’s existing branding for our developer to build out, and interfaced with the developer throughout the building process to clarify the design as needed.
