Great to meet you.
What kind of designer am i?
My early-career experience as an urban planner at a design agency strongly influenced the kind of designer I am today: I think about design problems as layered systems, believe that a methodical and collaborative process can untangle just about anything, and take care in organizing information to communicate clearly. I also care a lot about the impact of my work on real humans and over the last ten years I have picked up a Swiss-army-knife skillset with many capabilities beyond just design. As a teammate, I believe done beats perfect, that good work should be shared, and that recognizing others for their unique skills and contributions is essential.
What’s my story?
Currently I am a Principal Product Designer at Amplify, designing the best digital experience for K-12 teachers and students using our interactive classroom product. Previously I was Head of Product Design at Civis Analytics, where I focused on optimizing team dynamics, maturing design operations, and leading strategic user experience priorities. Before that, I was a Senior Product Designer at Level20, the start-up incubator of Progressive, where I collaborated on a cross-functional team to bring a new non-insurance product to beta launch. And at my very first design gig, with the design agency Sasaki, I wove data and technology into the spatial design of places.
I’m a Maker. Let’s make something together.
